Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erdem KILIÇ joined our department.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erdem Kılıç completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at the Department of Economics, Goethe University Frankfurt (1999-2005). His master's thesis is on "Political-Economic Determinants of Government Borrowing" (Politökonomische Bestimmungsgründe der Staatsverschuldung). He completed his PhD in the PhD Program in Financial Economics at Yeditepe University (2008-2011) and his dissertation is titled "Experiments on Overflow Effects: Electricity Consumption, Monetary Intervention and Financial Contagion" (Essays on Spillover Effects: Electricity Consumption, Monetary Intervention and Financial Contagion". He was a Postdoctoral Researcher at METU Institute of Applied Mathematics (2011-2012).

His areas of specialization include capital markets, international finance and macroeconomics. Among the courses he has taught are Financial Economics, Macroeconomic Theory, Microeconomics, Risk Management, Financial Forecasting, Econometrics and Financial Markets. Dr. Kılıç has published numerous international articles and books, and has also published articles and books nationally. He has served as a referee in many scientific journals. He has been a member of thesis monitoring juries at the master's and doctoral level at various foundation and state universities.

Erdem Kılıç has been a full-time faculty member at the Department of Economics at the Turkish-German University since June 2023. His previous positions include the Department of Business Administration at Beykoz University, the Department of Economics at MEF University (2014-2022), and part-time at the Department of German Business Administration at Marmara University (2021-2022).
