On June 23–24, 2025, an international academic event titled “Workshop on the Economics of Migration: Exploring the Roots of Migration Decisions” was held at the Turkish-German University. The workshop was organised with the contributions of the Jacobs Foundation, DAAD and DFG and in cooperation with ZEW Mannheim, Koç University, and Freie Universität Berlin.
The conference, hosted by the Turkish Economic Association (TEA), brought together leading economists and early-career scholars from Türkiye and abroad to engage in discussions on a wide range of topics in economics. Featuring keynote addresses by renowned economists such as Daron Acemoğlu, Ufuk Akçiğit, and Jeffrey D. Sachs, the event offered a vibrant platform for academic exchange.
On May 28, 2025, the Turkish-German University (TGU) hosted a successful workshop on Economic Mobility, organised in close collaboration with Bogazici University, Istanbul University, and ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research Mannheim. The event was made possible with funding from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
