Message from the Head of Department

The Department of Economics at the Turkish-German University aims to offer an economics education of world standards, based on the strong academic cooperation and cultural ties between Turkey and Germany.

Our undergraduate program not only provides students with traditional economic knowledge but also aims to educate individuals who can adapt to the dynamics of the global economic system, think analytically, and produce innovative solutions. The fact that our language of instruction is 100% German enables our students to develop communication skills at an international level, while the English courses offered in the 3rd and 4th years provide a multilingual academic background.

Our collaboration with our partner university in Germany, the University of Hohenheim, strengthens the international dimension of our education. Thanks to Erasmus+ programs and international exchange agreements, our students have the opportunity to study at leading European universities and gain cultural experience.

Our academic staff consists of distinguished Turkish and German scholars with international experience. Our instructors serve not only as experts in their fields but also as mentors who contribute to the development of our students. In addition, our academic staff publishes in internationally prestigious journals, participates in leading conferences and workshops worldwide, and makes valuable contributions to the scientific community.

Our department organizes various seminars to help students reinforce their academic knowledge and gain practical experience. The international seminars and panel discussions we organize offer our students the opportunity to learn about global economic issues and to meet renowned academics and professionals in the field.

Our students also have the chance to develop their research skills by participating in student club-led projects. Our graduates have the opportunity to work in a wide range of careers, including the private sector, public sector, and academia. Our economics program provides students with a competitive advantage in areas such as banking, finance, public policy, international trade, consulting, and think tanks. Our department prepares students not only for business life but also to become leaders who produce solutions to social problems.

As the Department of Economics at the Turkish-German University, we are constantly working to support our students, graduates, and academic community with an understanding of excellence in education.
