Assoc. Prof. Erdem Kılıç, a faculty member of our department, delivered a presentation titled “Financial Crises and International Contagion Mechanisms” at Istanbul Gelişim University on March 6, 2026, as part of the Financial Crises course.
The presentation explored the emergence of financial crises, shock transmission in foreign exchange markets, and the dynamics of international contagion. Detailed evaluations were provided through case studies of the 2008 global financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic era. Furthermore, Dr. Kılıç emphasized the critical role of macroprudential policies and international cooperation in enhancing the resilience of financial systems against future crises.
