Erasmus Internship Experience in Germany from Our Economics Student
As the Department of Economics at the Turkish-German University, we place great importance on and actively support our students’ ability to put their academic knowledge into practice within the international business environment. In this context, one of our students, Ayşenaz Pirdal, shared with us the experiences she gained in Germany as part of the Erasmus internship mobility program. The experiences of our student, who had the opportunity to observe sectoral dynamics on site and transfer her theoretical knowledge into professional practice, serve as an inspiring example for other students aiming for an international career.
I completed my Erasmus internship at IHGP Steuer GmbH, a company operating in Germany, where I had the opportunity to gain professional experience in an international working environment. Throughout the internship period, I took on active responsibilities particularly in the areas of accounting, tax processes, and financial documentation, which enabled me to apply my theoretical knowledge of economics in practice. I closely observed German business culture and, at the same time, personally experienced the responsibilities that come with living abroad. Using German terminology in daily work processes contributed significantly to the development of my professional foreign language skills. Through the tasks and responsibilities I undertook, I improved both my analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. This internship experience played a decisive role in shaping my career goals and reinforcing my desire to work in an international environment.
